Why Joey isn’t blaming out-of-form stars for Roosters’ demise
Rugby league immortal Andrew Johns isn’t buying the idea that out-of-form players are the prime reason for the Roosters’ demise this season, declaring a “horrendous injury toll” at the club has crippled Trent Robinson’s squad.
The Roosters look set for a rare season without finals football after going down to the Broncos 32-10 on Thursday night.
The Tricolours, who sit in 13th spot on the ladder, now need to win all five of their remaining games and likely rely on other results to sneak into September football.
While much has been made of the form of several high-profile stars at the club, including superstar fullback James Tedesco, Johns believes the issues are much larger than key players underperforming.
“Everyone’s jumping up and down about their form and all this,” Johns said.
