Is the Queensland Premier’s leadership under threat?

Luke is joined by his colleague at both Nine News in Brisbane and on 4BC, Peter Fegan, for his view on whether Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is about to get rolled.

The Premier’s leadership is reportedly strengthened by her deputy, Steven Miles. Despite initial concerns about her political future during her trip to Europe with her boyfriend, the recent anxiety about the Labor government’s prospects is likely to fade quickly.

Presently, there are worries about the tired and occasionally unfocused government’s ability to secure a fourth term in the October 2024 election.  Ms Palaszczuk, who assured her status as a Labor legend by winning three consecutive elections, has seen her popularity decline.

However, finding a successor who can lead the government to another term seems challenging, considering the government’s weakened state.
