Do Something Day: Give back to your local community

Article image for Do Something Day: Give back to your local community

Right across New South Wales, local clubs are getting ready to roll up their sleeves and give their best for Do Something Day.

In celebration of community volunteering, Do Something Day is about getting behind your local club and giving back to those who need it most.

From winter clothing appeals, charity food drives and thank you morning teas for local emergency services, there are many ways to get involved and make a difference.

Big or small, every act of kindness helps.

For this year’s #DoSomethingDay, Ben Fordham will be broadcasting live from Wenty Leagues today, Wednesday 25 July.

Make your way down to the club from 2.30pm for your chance to win a bunch of prizes and meet Parramatta Eels legends Nathan Hindmarsh and Nathan Cayless.

The boys are encouraging the community to donate near-new or new sports equipment to a special donation box in the club’s foyer, along with gold coin donations, which will be presented to Youth Off the Streets, Wentworthville this afternoon.

Don’t forget to spread the word. Hashtag #DoSomethingDay and #GiveYourBest

For more ideas on how you can get involved and give your best visit Do Something Day or search for Your Local Club on Facebook.
