Patisserie chefs arrested in cocaine yacht import
Two French nationals, employed as patisserie chefs, have been arrested by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for importing cocaine worth $61 million.
Arrests were made in connection to 247kg of cocaine that was seized from a yacht in Townsville.
The illicit substances were found concealed in the hull of the yacht, discovered through the use of X-ray technology.
Both men have been extradited to Brisbane and are scheduled to appear in court.
Authorities suspect possible links to an international organized crime network working both internationally and domestically.
